SABRINA E. MORRISSEY ENGAGED IN FOUNDATION WORK.
In 2024 and into 2025, Sabrina E. Morrissey is the Treasurer of the WBASNY Foundation, and a member of the Board of Directors of the NYWBA, where she is also the Fundraising Chair. The NYWBA Foundation is entering its 30th year in 2025, and the Foundation is undertaking a major fundraising campaign.

On September 26, 2024, Sabrina E. Morrissey was one of four panelists at the newly renovated Frank E. Campbell – The Funeral Chapel, speaking on the issue of how our senior clients can live their best lives. She presented on the topic of basic estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, health care proxies, powers of attorney and disposition of remains documents. The group engaged in a lively discussion on these issues and others, including how to pre-plan a funeral and burial and how to better resolve family disputes.

As summer began to fade into fall, on September 24, 2024, the NYWBA Elder Law and Disabilities Committee presented an informative program on “Tricky Issues in Elder Law and Best Practices For Resolving Them Outside of Court” at the elegant Apsley by Sunrise assisted living facility in Manhattan. Sabrina E. Morrissey moderated the panel discussion, centered on issues affecting an elderly client, “John,” and his estate planning, medical and housing needs. This was an informative and helpful program covering a variety of important topics to our senior clients.

Sabrina E. Morrissey was asked to be a Co-Chair of the Solo and Small Law Firm Committee of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York. Sabrina E. Morrissey was tapped to be a Co-Chair of the Solo and Small Firm Committee of the New York Women’s Bar Association. Her Co-Chair is Gail Bader, Esq. SABRINA E. MORRISSEY INCLUDED IN “WOMEN LEADERS IN THE LAW” IN NY FOR 2014.
Sabrina E. Morrissey was recently selected by New York magazine as one of New York’s top female attorneys. These honorees are being recognized through the publication’s New York’s Women Leaders in the Law special section in March, which is also Women’s History Month.
Sabrina has served as a guardian many times over to persons who experience challenges managing their health, personal and financial matters, and she considers helping those in need to be a great privilege.
Sabrina has practiced law in New York since 1994 and is experienced not only in the field of adult guardianship, but also Trusts and Estates work, including accountings and Surrogate’s Court litigation. She is an entrepreneur, having started two businesses of her own. She frequently lectures on estate planning and advance directives.
She is a member of the Elder Law and Trusts and Estates sections of the New York State Bar Association, the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, and the New York Women’s Bar Association.

The New York Bar Association presented the Empire State Counsel designation to Sabrina E. Morrissey & James J. Morrissey, Jr. for “their outstanding contribution in rendering 50 or more hours of free legal services to the poor in 2008.”
