James J. Morrissey, Jr. (Jim) has practiced law for over 40 years, with a primary focus on estate planning, administration and litigation.

Throughout his career, he has achieved a number of recognitions, among them an AV rating—the highest possible peer rating by the Martindale-Hubbell directory of attorneys. Jim was also inducted into the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, and served as the American Cancer Society’s New York counsel.

Active and well-respected in the legal community, Jim is often asked to act as a Guardian ad Litem, to review cases on behalf of the Surrogate’s Court and provide recommendations to the court in cases involving minors and incapacitated persons. He has acted as an Article 81 Guardian for an incapacitated person. He has performed volunteer work for the Legal Aid Society. He has served as a board member for numerous privately-held corporations.
